Memorial Day Weekend Around Third & Valley

Memorial Day weekend is about remembering those who served our country, spending time with your friends and family and it usually involves some type of kick-off for summer.  If you are staying in New Jersey this MDW you may be surprised at all that activities that are being held in the Garden State!

The Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival will be held on May 28th-30th and will have over 50 regional trucks at the Monmouth Park Racetrack.  There is always something new and exciting on the menu at the festival. There will be something there to satisfy your taste buds whether you’re in the mood for fresh lobster on brioche rolls, juicy cheesesteaks, rich and flavorful ice cream or crispy truffle fries.  Some of the food trucks we are excited about are Mac Truck NYC, Oink & Moo BBQ, Waffle De Lys and Naked Tamales.

Enjoy a fun day at the Maplewood Street Fair which will be held on May 29th.  This is a must-do since it’s so close to Third & Valley! The street fair will have over 200 vendors and is expected to bring in around 25,000 people.  You’ll be able to find fine art, clothing, candles, food and much more! Pick up some food and beverages and head over to the park or take a walk around town!

Another great idea is the Memorial Day picnic on the Delaware River. They’ll be family activities, historic tours, scenic walks and use of the boat launch on the Delaware River.  You can also go off on your own and do some rafting and a guided kayak journey.

Of course there’s also the beautiful beaches in New Jersey! Asbury Park has great restaurants and is only an hour away.  Cape May is a little further but worth the trip.  The annual Cape May Music Festival will also be going on Memorial Day Weekend.
