Get in the Fall Spirit By Pumpkin Picking at These Local Patches
Fall is finally in the air here in South Orange! And, as everyone young and old is well-aware, there’s no better way to get in the autumn spirit than by going pumpkin picking as Halloween gets closer and closer.
If you’re ready to carve a pumpkin with the kids, paint it or just display it as some authentic fall décor in your Third and Valley apartment, then visit these farms that offer pumpkin picking this month. You better hurry though if you’re looking for that perfect pick!
Wightman Farms, located at 1111 Mt Kemble Ave, Morristown which is 30 minutes from your Third and Valley apartment, has been growing and selling fruits and vegetables for over 90 years.
At Wightman Farms, pumpkin picking is offered every Saturday and Sunday through the end of the month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. While you’re here, make sure you also check out their farm store, which sells freshly baked pies and doughnuts, honey, cider, prepared foods and much more!
Conklin Farm, located at 65 River Rd, Montville which is about 30 minutes from your Third and Valley apartment, is a great farm for pumpkin picking which also offers a corn maze, a train for kids, and a regular and haunted hay ride.
Here, you can pick your own pumpkins for $0.65 a pound, plus, there’s no entry fee. Since they also have animals for the kids as well as a snack shack, this is a great place to spend the entire day enjoying the autumn!
