Get in the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit at These Irish Bars

Whether you’re 100% Irish or you couldn’t have any less “green” in you, we all become Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, which we will get to celebrate on March 17. For those living in South Orange, the possibilities of festivities are endless thanks to the many nearby Irish bars.

Are you ready to indulge in some Guinness, corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie? Then make sure you check out these Irish bars located only a hop and skip away from your Third and Valley apartment.

St James’s Gate Publick House, located at 167 Maplewood Ave, Maplewood which is a four minute drive from your Third and Valley apartment, is an upbeat Irish mainstay with a fireplace providing creative pub fare and premium whiskeys in comfy digs.

On St. Patrick’s Day, St. James’s Gate Publick House will open at 8 a.m. and will host a special menu that only comes to light once a year. There will also be live Irish music in the early afternoon as well as bag pipers throughout the day.

Blackthorn Restaurant & Irish Pub, located at 651 N Michigan Ave, Kenilworth which is a 15-minute drive from your Third and Valley apartment, is a popular go-to for comfort food and Irish fare in a spacious setting with DJ tunes on weekends.

Blackthorn is often associated with warriors in Celtic legends as a sign of strength. In Ireland, the Blackthorn tree is a haven for birds to find protection within the thorny branches of the tree. Like the history of the Blackthorn tree, Blackthorn Restaurant and Bar provides exceptional hospitality to all those who visit!
